The iPAD SP1 defibrillator is equipped with a unique ‘i’ button, offering enhanced functionality and support during Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) emergencies. By pressing the ‘i’ button, users can activate additional CPR feedback, ensuring high-quality chest compressions with the correct rate and rhythm. If not selected, the device will default to its built-in metronome to guide the responder through CPR.
This smart AED (Automated External Defibrillator) also detects internal device errors and provides critical data to paramedics upon arrival. This feature supports a seamless transition from basic life support to advanced life support, improving patient outcomes during cardiac emergencies.
The ‘i’ button allows users or administrators to configure CPR protocols—including compression rate, breath-to-compression ratio, and number of cycles—keeping the defibrillator aligned with the latest resuscitation guidelines. If an issue is detected, the ‘i’ button flashes red to alert the user immediately.
Holding the ‘i’ button for over one second activates Administrator Mode, where a voice prompt provides a summary of the total usage hours and the number of shocks delivered. Data can also be downloaded for post-event analysis, and the software version can be checked directly through the device.
